Through its subsidiary Matzen & Timm GmbH, the Masterflex Group has broken ground for the new Masterduct Morocco SARL AU plant in the Midparc free trade zone in Nouaceur near Casablanca (Morocco). In future, molded parts, bellows and hoses "designed in Germany, made in Morocco" will be manufactured here.

Matzen & Timm, the specialist for lightweight hoses within the Masterflex Group and a long-standing partner to the aviation industry, can look back on a century of company history. Since its foundation on April 1, 1925 by the two businessmen Oscar Matzen and Otto Timm, the Norderstedt-based company has had an eventful history.

The management of processes based on the KPI system, the completely revised supplier selection and evaluation process and the open communication within the company were particularly emphasized.

Film off - that was the motto in Norderstedt some time ago. In the leading role: the team from the Elbe-Werkstätten external work group. Now the movie is finished. The collaboration between Matzen & Timm and Elbe-Werkstätten is now in its 14th year. And is a successful model for both sides, as Managing Director Peter Bremer emphasized in an interview. His conclusion: "Inclusion is lived here."

EN 9100:2018 certification for the aerospace industry underlines the high quality standard at the Planá site in the Czech Republic. The recertification has now been successfully implemented in close cooperation between the Planá and Norderstedt sites near Hamburg. EN 9100 is an extension of ISO 9001 and a special standard for the aerospace industry.
As part of the series "50 years of Norderstedt", Matzen & Timm was featured in a company portrait in the Hamburger Abendblatt.

Airbus honors Matzen & Timm with the SQIP "Best Improver" award at the Supplier Conference in Toulouse. The prize is awarded for improved delivery reliability and sustainable quality and is part of the Airbus "Supply Chain & Quality Improvement" program, or SQIP for short.
This year's revision brought three significant changes. Firstly, the so-called "High Level Structure" was taken from the quality management standard ISO 9001: 2015, meaning that the requirements of ISO 9001 also became part of the new EN 9100, and secondly, additional industry-specific criteria were redefined.

Ten interested applicants completed a 14-day internship in production and eight of them received an employment contract. A language teacher taught the men from Syria, Eritrea, Afghanistan, Macedonia, Albania and Iran German, so that integration took place through language and daily work. The project was supported by an external partner. The result: half of the men have managed to integrate and are now in regular employment.
With innovative technologies and decades of experience, companies from the Lübeck Chamber of Industry and Commerce district supply highly developed components for the aerospace industry. Matzen & Timm, for example, produces everything from series production to individually manufactured one-off items - such as a connecting part for a special aerospace application that can no longer be replaced. "Producing a maintenance-free part is quite something," says Managing Director Dirk Baumann.
Matzen & Timm's dragon boat team, the "Dragon Hoses", achieve 5th place in the "long boat" category at the annual dragon boat race on Norderstedt's Stadtparksee.
Matzen & Timm supports various projects such as the location campaign of the NORDGATE business association, a future project for young people with the Willy Brandt School in Norderstedt, the "Business for a week" project of the non-profit association Futurepreneur e.V. In addition, a new logo shines above the entrance at the Nordportbogen.
Acquisition of a new climate chamber for testing products. In the new climate chamber, positive and negative temperature ranges can be simulated in combination with pressure.
Relaunch of the website and thus a uniform web presence for the Masterflex Group brands.
Start of cooperation with the Elbe workshops in Hamburg: Eight Elbe employees are employed at Matzen & Timm in Norderstedt and carry out lightly skilled work there. The cooperation still exists today.
In 1992, Matzen & Timm becomes part of Smith Industries plc. (Great Britain).
In 1980, the license agreement with the company "Flexfab Inc." ends and Matzen & Timm begins to develop and manufacture its own industrial hoses under the names "Flexafit", "Flexavent", "Flexanorm" and "Flexrapid". Matzen & Timm becomes one of the leading suppliers of extremely lightweight and high-temperature resistant hoses.
In 1972, the Hanseatenhaus in Hamburg-Stellingen becomes the new company headquarters.
Matzen & Timm receives a ten-year license from the American company "Flexfab Inc." to produce hoses.
