New permanently antistatic Food A range

Particularly stringent requirements apply to any materials used by the food and pharma industries. Even hoses and other connections must conform to strict regulations and guidelines with regard to their quality, hygiene, abrasion resistance, flexibility and resilience.

Specializing in such applications, Masterflex has specifically developed a new multi-purpose suction and transport hose made of polyurethane (PUR). The new hose has already been tried and tested and now forms part of the Masterflex permanently antistatic food grade hose range. "Thanks to its new material composition, the Master-PUR FOOD A Multi can be used to transport all kinds of foodstuffs covering all food simulant groups A to E," explains Christian Horstkoetter, Sales Director Spiral Hoses at Masterflex. "It can therefore be used in an even wider range of food transport applications and offers real-world benefits to our clients, such as reduced storage costs and greatly increased safety and durability in applications."

This new premium product of the leading hose manufacturer has been tested and certified in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 and is also approved for use in the USA. It can be used to transport nearly all types of foodstuffs (dry, aqueous, acidic, alcoholic and fatty foodstuffs) as well as dairy products. "Compliance with a particular food category was demonstrated by means of testing the finished hose with direct contact of the relevant food stimulants," explains Horstkoetter.

The new hose has a much broader multi-functional capacity than the other hoses in the Food A range, which are designed for use in particular applications, such as the transport of dry foodstuffs (group E). "We will, however, continue to produce Master-PUR FOOD A specifically for the transport of the foodstuffs covered by food simulant group E," emphasizes Horstkoetter.

The hose wall material of the new Master-PUR Food A Multi also conforms to the latest FDA Regulations 21 CFR § 177.1680 and § 177.2600, meets the German DIN EN ISO 8031 standard and is also specifically approved under the TRGS 727 and ATEX 2014/34 EU regulations. All in all: certified, approved and ready for use!
